INTERNSHIPS

Gain valuable experience with an internship

PADNET offers unpaid college internships for students who are interested in production and are currently enrolled in an educational institution.

    Internship Requirements

  • Be registered as a student at a university, college, community college, or vocational-technical institute.
  • Receive school credit for the internship.
  • Be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week for 8 weeks.

PADNET interns become our production assistants. We train you in all aspects of studio and field production, from set design to lighting to audio. We’ve placed our most skilled interns in crew positions as studio camera operators, floor managers, and assistant directors. Interns who work on our productions will receive screen credit.

Our interns also have a lot of post-production responsibilities. This includes data management, logging, transcribing, and converting files. We’ll ask you to edit short promos, public service announcements, and long-form programming using Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro X. We especially love it when our interns can create graphics using After Effects and Photoshop.

Interns also help the PADNET organization succeed, so we’ll also ask you to help us increase our membership, fill up our classes, and encourage members to create more content. Interns help us develop and carry out marketing strategies, manage our social media presence, and attend local events to represent PADNET.

Check out this playlist of videos that were produced, filmed, and edited entirely by our past interns. They’ve set a high bar! We’re looking for applicants that are ready to aim even higher.

We especially like to hire interns who have experience with camera operation, audio recording, and video editing—or any other aspect of production.
